Bank of America today announced a $1.5 million commitment as part of its work to advance racial equality and economic opportunity in Massachusetts. King Boston, an organization dedicated to raising awareness of the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King in Boston, and the Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers, which offers support and assistance to the state’s 52 community health centers, will both receive funding. The grant funding is aligned to the bank’s $1.25 billion, five-year commitment, which further accelerates work already underway to address racial inequality and catalyze similar efforts across the private sector.

Harris, who President Joe Biden tapped to lead the U.S. border response on March 24, is expected to hear the Mexican president s proposal to expand a tree-planting program aimed at curbing poverty and migration among Central American migrants.
López Obrador pitched his Planting Life expansion plan to create 1.2 million jobs and plant 3 billion trees to Biden at Thursday s climate change summit. Mexican officials said he will urge Harris to create six-month work visas and eventual paths to citizenship through the environmental program, which he wants to see extended into Honduras and Guatemela.

WACO, TX â The City of Waco is taking a good look within to find the most efficient use of resources with the lowest impact on the planet. I think clean energy and sustainable energy is just good for the environment in general, and again as technology catches up to a practical application and a cost-effective application, I think that s what gets everybody s attention, said City of Waco Councilmember Jim Holmes.
Last summer, Waco city officials, along with consultants, put together an energy guidance document, which is basically a playbook on the city s sustainability from air and water quality to energy and pollution.

Chinese basketball star Yao Ming and other well-known personalities including actress Cate Blanchett and singer Shakira have signed an open letter calling on people across the world to unite in tackling the climate crisis before it is too late.
They are part of the Earthshot Prize Council, an annual environmental award launched in 2020 by Prince William and naturalist David Attenborough who are also on the list of signatories.
